I need an OLD STYLE Doug Elliott R5 shank (with the "American" taper). An "R5M" (old-style Miraphone taper) would also suit my needs. (Not an "R5A" or "R5A+". The "A" shanks were for the two sizes of the old-school, monstrous Alexander receivers.)
I have a decent condition R5E, R7E, or R8A+ to offer in trade, and I have a P5E I am willing to trade outright for a P5, or I can buy either of them outright if yours is for sale for around $50 shipped to 39194.

I have an R4 shank that I don't imagine is much different than the R5.

Hey, @internalanarchy! Thanks for your response…
The R4 is noticeably smaller in the feel of the blow below the staff but is very similar in all other ways. I am interested but not gushingly excited by it. I *know* that I like the R5E shank, so I'm just looking to correct the fit in the receiver with an R5. But, as you said, they are pretty close. I don't really remember much about the R4 save for vague impressions from 1995 (listed above). With that in mind, what would you want for it? I have other DE shanks to offer in trade or (if I can afford your price) I'll buy it outright.
You are welcome to reply here or to PM me. Either method would be fine.

Looks like I may have what I am looking for, folks. Thanks for contacting me about what you have. If it turns out that I am still in need I'll resurrect this thread.
