Stolen Instrument- W. Washington

Post by The Big Ben »

I had my car broken into on Thursday night and my Olds 099-4 in its bag was stolen. My car was in my parking spot in my condo. There were a few other vehicles broken into on the same night.

The horn is an Olds 099-4 BBb 3/4 tuba. It was in superb mechanical condition with replated, bored and honed valves by Dan Oberloh. The rest of the horn was in good condition and showed only regular use since it was overhauled and resprayed by Dan Oberloh about two years ago. It had a Schilke Helleberg mouthpiece and was in a ProTech case. The serial number is: 995228

The theft has being reported to the local police (Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Port Hadlock, WA.). I have notified all music dealers and repair outlets and schools in Western Washington. If you run across this horn, please notify the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, referencing
case number 23-937 at 360-385-3831 or Officer Kolby Schreier at kschreier@co.jeffereson.wa.us.

Thank you. I have another BBb horn to play with my groups but losing this horn is rather upsetting. It's insured but, well, you know....

Ouch. I’m really sorry to hear that. I hope it turns up somewhere, soon.

I hope the thief/thieves get caught and prosecuted . . . After you get your tuba back in undamaged condition.

Haven't heard hide nor hare about it but the insurance company was good and I've gone a different direction. (As you know! ;) )
