Some bad joke about a helio con?
Which the folk of Galileo's time were too smart to fall for...
Wait, why need i justify my own internal deadline?
I guess i think i'm funny or something. I suppose i could pick something worse than myself to be full of...
Anyway. Sunday it is, then.
Here i am posting a Mahillon i got cheaply a year and a half ago, which i find satisfying and interesting, but to my shame, could sure use some tlc, and i have not really done anything to improve its condition since i got it.
Any questions?

And the other one, a nice Monster BBb Helicon made by Melchior de Vries, also from Belgium. Huge sound coming out of the 60 cm Bell. Both are for sale at: www.brassshop.wordpress.com

Granted, your hand is partially in the way, but from the looks of things, you’d never know the 4th valve was an add on. Any chance of a picture showing the valve cluster?
Very nice!

That was the inspiration for the name. The original Instagram was very bare and offered mainly a platform to filter photos and put a frame around them. Just captions and likes. Things have changed a lot since then.

Re: Lovin' Me Some Helicon!!!! Post yours here.
This, on the other hand, as a layout is a mite differenct than hitherto posted helicons...
It is a Besson. I have not really found an entirely happy neck, which doesn't surprise me.
Other examples of these i have come across don't have removible necks.
Also as i haven't played it beyond hearing the tone with a stopgap neck (pretty solid sound!) i can't say if it is low pitch or what. I won't be surprised to find it somehow excentric in tuning.

From Ukraine, Bb, really light, just got it in today. Has a really nice dark sound and the s-linkages aren't bad.

Re: Lovin' Me Some Helicon!!!! Post yours here.
Thanks for pointing out the Python Tuba! That is cool, and 'twas my first exposure to one.
I been meaning to ask for purposes of this thread what was and was not a helicon.
In particular, my impression has always been a helicon is a tuba what goes around the player, so sousaphones are helicons which are tubas.
Since Sousaphone is the wider understood term, common useage is that if someone says helicon, they usually mean one that isn't a sousaphone.
So... would posting a sousaphone here be frowned upon?
