ITS kind of strange ... but i thin actualy isa CC but not a B\b SOUSA... also have differnt position of the reciever... ... and take smaller cone mouth piece .. i bilieve that is before 1961 because i saw this sousa on a picture of the local band.... thanks...

Re: MYSTERY SOUSAPHONE....
Is it possible that that's a India sousaphone intended to be pitched in E-flat, possibly built too long, and with a deep cup mouthpiece of yours playing it even flatter than it already is flat, or is my guess a bad guess?

Re: MYSTERY SOUSAPHONE....
What country are you located in?
If a local player is telling you it's pitched in D, it is possible it's a very low-pitch Eb sousaphone (which would be close to a modern D), but the slides look too long... hmm.
Interesting keel on the bottom. Maybe Czech/Austrian?
I wish I could be more helpful!

Re: MYSTERY SOUSAPHONE....
well...thick grease is probably good, but that won't raise the pitch to E-flat.
