The latest batch of the 1960s Helleberg replicas are ready to go!
Please write me a PM or at mail@berlinertuba.com
Specs and Price:
The Berliner Tuba Helleberg replica Model BT-H.
This is an extremely accurate copy of the larger (120 model) Helleberg made by Conn from the 1960s until the mid 1980s. Afterwards the production was moved and the dimensions changed for the worse. These replicas bring back the superior sound and feel of the older model 120. The only change has been to make the shaft removable to allow easier potential custom work.
Rim 33.50mm flat rim
Backbore 8.50mm
Shaft end size 13.20mm
Price for EU: 200€ + Shipping (19% VAT included)
Price outside EU 168€ + Shipping (without German VAT)

Very nice, Jake!

I hope you have one left after Christmas. I should have some disposable gig income after the annual freelance glut…

Is that "standard" or "euro" size?

Could you show what the removable shaft looks like?

Also, is there a name/model/etc stamped on them?

And who is the maker for these? Did you turn them out, or did you contract the work out elsewhere?

I can't do a 33.5 rim, but otherwise would be interested in these!

Nice work!!

Hi Elephant, I'm almost sold out again, but I'll do another run in November, stay tuned!

Hi Bort,

13.20-13.30mm is usually a standard shaft size and 13.50-60 is usually Euro shaft size.

The shaft is a screw type.

If you come visit the workshop, we can make one together on the lathe:)

Cheers from Berlin,
The Berliner Tuba

If I ever come to Germany again (I was a toddler the only time I’ve been there) I’d pay the shop time (and the mouthpiece cost) to take you up on that!

Hello everyone, first of all, thank you so much for all of the interest and support! It's been quite a journey bringing this mouthpiece back to life.
Once again the next batch is finished and I still have 4 left. If anyone is interested, please let me know!
