5th valve is a 2-3 (~2 whole steps). I believe this was picked out at the factory by my tuba prof in the mid-70s. They were the sole owner until I purchased it about a decade ago. Some minor dents. Lacquer wear in a few spots, the worst being the 5th valve slide (see pics in google drive link). The bell has a slight bend around the inside of the wreath. The main water key has been replaced and there's some wear in the brass there. The deluxe Miraphone bag ($300) was purchased new in 2019. Horn is currently located in Los Angeles, CA. I would be willing to drive pretty far to make the sale. Would prefer not to ship. $2750/obo

I played another one of these very recently that also made me smile. (It belongs to a friend’s graduate student.)

Many of us have listened - countless times - to recordings of someone playing one of these - and doing quite well with it - recorded about 50 years ago.

How do these older 180's compare to the old MW-45 F tubas? I've played and liked the old ones that I've tried.

I like the sound and tone a lot, very fun to.play. My response to low register comments and complaints is "Ja, und...?"

The low register is "bad" if someone tries to play it as if it's a B-flat sousaphone.

The high register of a soprano saxophone is "bad", if someone tries to play it as if they are playing a baritone saxophone.

The low register of a baritone saxophone is "bad", if someone tries to play it as if they are playing a soprano saxophone.
