For sale is a Yamaha YFB-621S in excellent condition, 5 piston valve F tuba in silver plate. This horn was purchased new by its previous owner in April 2019. It has had no modifications, and has a few small dents in the bottom bow as well as one on the bottom of the MTS. See additional pictures for reference.
Price is $6,800, which includes a Gard top-loading gig bag and the original Yamaha hard case. I would greatly prefer to meet in person, but I am willing to work out shipping if that's the only way, at the buyer's expense. I'm willing to drive about 4 hours to meet a buyer.
The horn plays very well, open partials are in tune, and the only note I've needed to adjust is the A♭ at the bottom of the staff, which rides sharp. I either just lip it down or pull the 3rd slide depending on context. Low register is rock-solid, typical of the 621 model. It makes an excellent quintet instrument, especially for arrangements that have a bass trombone part instead of tuba (looking at you, ABQ!)
Only reason I'm selling is that I'm looking for a different bass tuba sound. However, if you're looking for an easy to play F tuba, look no further.
