Horn looks to be in good shape. Newer style buttons. Seems like a great deal, local pickup in FL.

I had one of similar vintage.
These are great sounding tubas with respectable intonation. I did have some first valve fidgeting in the staff, iirc.
These things always sell cheap in the USA. If you don’t care about the layout and are willing to use a tuba stand (I have a long torso and still didn’t dig the leadpipe height), you can get a lot of tuba for not a lot of money.
I know a lot of people like the older generation Eb tubas more than the newer ones, and I get that. However, I think the opposite for the Bb comps. I think the sound is better on the bigger bell and the intonation is a bit more manageable without tuning slide modifications.

"first valve fidgeting in the staff"...
...All of the B-flats feature a sharp E-flat, do they not?
Sometimes, #3 can be mashed (along with #1) to fix that pitch....but that trick only works on 3+1 comps and not with 3V comps.

Thanks for reminding me…
Yeah, I guess Eb below the staff needed about a 1/2” tug, iirc. It’s been 19 years since I sold it off. Nonetheless, you can do a lot worse for that amount of money.

not too many really bad pitches on those instruments...particularly not before various manufacturers decided to see how large they could make them.
The !7" bell English-made ones (OK...or 24" recording bell ones - same instrument) really didn't/don't present players with too many workarounds.

Indeed, on this side of the pond these are closer to 6K...

I can't see more, Is it a 992? 992's are like a hybrid of 994 and New Standard. New Standard body with 19" bell, straight leadpipe, and non-leaky valves. 992 is a no-brainer, best of those 3 options.
