I have a great old King 1240 with the recording bell, but I desperately need a way to store it when it's not being used. I am interested in a set of those heavy wooden/tolex-covered cases, for both the bell and body. I think the body case is sort of bean-shaped.
Shipping is fine. Let me know whatcha got. Thanks!

Have you looked at what Taylor Music has? They have some used in stock and brand new ones for $575 which I think they have made up for them. You didn’t specify recording bell or upright. Cases are different of course.

I have a set of the Taylor cases for my Martin. They're good, but I think they'd be overkill (too big) for a King. You can give Taylor a call or send an email to ask. They might even have an old set of King cases in storage since I believe they have more than they show on the website.
The King cases do come up for sale from time to time, although I haven't seen any in the last year or two that I can recall.

Thanks Don, edited, it's a recording bell.
Yes, I've looked at Taylor, but that is out of my price range, especially when there are probably a ton of these cases sitting around unused with the tubas long-gone or repurposed into frankenhorns and whatnot.

Thanks, I'll give them a call to see if they have any used inventory.hrender wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 9:57 am I have a set of the Taylor cases for my Martin. There is a fellow in Ohio selling the bell case for $100 + shipping which is more in line with my budget.

Re: WTB: two-piece hard cases for King detachable recording bell tuba
Taylor Music seems to have those more often than everyone else, as has already been stated. I might have a pair of later rectangular crappy ones that would be free, but I'd have to look. Being crappy, I think you would need to expect to have to repair them. Were I a little bit more practical, I probably would have thrown them out (but I'm not very practical).
