Hovahness #2 - Mysterious Mountain

Post by kingrob76 »

Looking for a copy of the tuba part for prep work before I get my hands on the performance part. My Google machine is coming up dry for this piece. If you have this in PDF please PM me.

You're not too far from the Library of Congress...
They reportedly have it.

This place claims to have a 7-day free trial...

Here's a play-along performance with moving score:

' good thing (for the tuba player) in this instance that not everyone is paid the same amount per note !

Thanks all - I have this now. Nice to know it has a muted part. And a solo.

And given this is the ONLY thing I'm playing on this particular program I'll be able to catch up on my reading :-)

I did note upon a fairly minor look at the score, that the same person could play both the tuba part and the Cor Anglais part. And read a book, probably.

My wife plays Oboe and English Horn but I doubt she'd let me touch either. The part I got makes references to covering the contrabassoon part, but I suspect they will have that covered.

I've played this a couple of times. Including once with the last Mrs. Hovahness (sixth) in attendance.

Six? I assume they were not concurrent. My take on that is, if you're going to change that much, just don't get married in the first place.
