All,
I've been looking at the 1241 King BBb tubas out there. I see these three:
https://www.baltimorebrasscompany.com/p ... -tuba.aspx
and
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285603184733?m ... media=COPY
and
https://www.ebay.com/itm/126170376388?m ... media=COPY
Does anyone know anything about the instruments or sellers? The costs seem to be what I've come to expect for that instrument in good shape. Thanks for any advice!

Re: Good Tuba for Value?
Baltimore Brass is one of the best of the best music companies out there, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend them.
Wichita Band Instrument Co. has been around a long time, and I've never heard anything bad.
The other eBay tuba, who knows.
Those King tubas play very well, and have probably depreciated about all they're going to depreciate, until they get damaged or totally worn out.

Re: Good Tuba for Value?
I'm not going into the differences, but - with a 1241 - the issues are going to be
- condition of the valves and casings (as these are getting to be OLD)
- how picky the own is re: tuning (as the #1 and #3 circuits are going to be too long on the 1241 - just as they are on the 1240 and 2340 three-valve versions).
- If picky, the cost of shortening the #1 and #3 circuits, and retrofitting an upper #1 tune-on-the-fly slide.
