I wanted to, but all of them that I saw appeared to be exact duplicates of former Cerveny instruments, and I didn't expect them to be any different. I was hoping to try their 3/4-size Bb but they are apparently still inbound. And Lee's booth was crowded. The only instrument I got a chance to play in his booth was the Miraphone 1291.

I did last year. I liked the Moldau de Luxe BBb the best
The CC was good too. But the Moldau BBb
Can't remember too many details though. The classic 3/4 Lidl Bb was fine but the Miraphone 494 blows me away a lot more. Plus I mentioned the red/gold brass 3/4 BBb one earlier in this thread too.

They didn't have any there because he had sold all of his so I guess I'll just have to wait for another time to test that hypothesis

Well according to an user on the other forum, that's because it is! To an extent. The blog link mentions it. It says the prototype-then was based on YFB822, so many things must have changed since then. YCB623 is not yet sold here in Japan, so we cannot try it for a while (apparently, same thing happened for YCB822 in the 1990s).

I spent some time on the horns. I found the smaller F tuba to be very nice. Good tone and high range. The larger F I didn’t like so much. Both sported a pretty good low C.
The CCs were fun, but not something I’d buy.

The problem with re-introducing the 2157 would be...
- "It can't possibly be as good as anything newly-designed, as we now have all of this acoustical technology.
- It's only a model NUMBER, and doesn't have some NAME such as "LIGHTNINGBOLT" (etc.)
- There's no celebrity tewbiste associated with it...ie. "Fatty Tightsuit 'designed' this model."

I really do think the brass initials - and made to look as factory as possible - are a good idea, because of all the theft (of just about anything you can think of), these days. I suspect that most thieves are so stupid that they wouldn't know that those were added on later, and it makes instruments really an easy to identify.
The overwhelming percentage of gigs for American musicians are in its cities. American cities are in de facto criminal-run chaos - particularly, now - with Soros money having funded so many of their pro-crime district attorneys' campaigns, and their voting populaces being so ignorant - due to the (for 45 years, now) nationalization of (de-)education. Those who don't see the chaos are frogs who jumped into the pot when the water was already pretty hot. One has to have grown up during the pre-chaos days to be able to see it. For everyone else, it's just an H. G. Wells' The Time Machine-like "the way things have always been".
I like Wade's air tag idea. As far as finding a place to hide it, I really think that maybe contact cement and sticking it just barely out of sight on the inside of the bottom bow is probably the easiest solution, and would have about as much effect on the sound as "failing to think about the spelling of 'hippopotamus' " while playing anything-in-particular.

Well, I have been known to scratch my initials in things when I was younger; for example I still have a fancy-dan HP calculator I got in engineering school (It does hyperbolic functions for transmission line calculations!) for what was a lot of money to me back then, and I scratched my initials in it. It is still on Battery #2 and the initials are still there. Those would lower the price for a collector, but it never went anywhere back when it was in use a lot.
So -- (sacrilege!!) -- one could, with a very small engraving tool, put one's initials on an obscure but visible place on one's tuba, and those would be quite difficult to remove without its being noticed that they were removed. The tuba would be totally identifiable.

Scratching in initials is a good idea, but my over-the-top brass initials can be seen in pictures in eBay auctions, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and those sorts of stolen property fencing websites.
