Yes indeed, interesting and a rare bird. I have the same horn. But my lacquer is intact and I have what believe to be the original case. I don’t believe the detachable valve section is a mod. I think they came from the factory like that. Mine has it. Also a detachable lead pipe. Very sweet playing horn! Sure wish I could find the 4 valve version though. Valve buttons do not look original. Mine are white mother of pearl.
