SOLD: Valve Stem Hold Downs for sale

Post by Matt Walters »

I have some Altieri made piston valve stem/finger button hold downs. They measure approximately 4" wide by 9.5" long with a Velcro loop on each corner. The red ones are slightly thicker and stiffer. Price is $20.00 with Conus 48 states Postal Shipping included. You put these over the finger buttons and hook the Velcro loops around tubing to hold the valve stems down so they won't get bent if the tuba rolls while in the gig bag. You can't make your own for this cheap if you had to go out and buy the materials. First come first serve on the color choices. They are all in new or like new condition.

1ea) Purple

I accept good personal checks from someone I know or PayPal if you want quicker service. Just send me a private message saying which you want and how you want to pay for it.

I appreciate you selling those. I have at least one of those laying around somewhere, and had no idea what it was.

Since a tuba bag is (well...) little more than "a sack with a thin pad inside", apparently (to me, now) these things hold piston valves in the DOWN position when stored in a bag (padded sack) to prevent valve stems from getting bent or broken (ex: when the front/top side of the bag brushes against a doorway, etc...)

I had one of these for my Miraphone 1291. I used it exactly as many times as I used the bell cover... Oh, Alteiri... :eyes:

I've personally (when buying used tubas for resale) always considered those to be the "Old Maids of tuba gig bags"...
