My 25J got a better-than-new overhaul and it is now the best tuba in the world

Post by timtimtim »

I had my 25J overhauled completely by the team at Ozwinds (in Melbourne, Australia). It is now amazingly perfect.

It's gorgeous, plays even better than before, and I couldn't be happier.

(Let me know if the photos from Facebook don't work and I can re-post them here directly)

Looking good!

My first impressions:

picture #1: happy owner
picture #6: unhappy repairman

One or both of those statements may be untrue, but those first impressions made me laugh.

CONN-gratulations!

How is the tuning on bottom of the staff F? Open or 1+3?

Beautiful!!!

Reminds me that the 20J needs a bath and a valve alignment. It looks like your before picture :(

I noticed you are playing without a bit! How is the intonation. I find C in the staff and F terrible even played 1+3 without a bit.
As amateur as they come...I know just enough to be dangerous.

I can't think of anything better than someone who's really happy with their instrument.

I think the bead blasted brass with shiny bits is sexy!

Is the inside of the bell shiny too?
