FS: 1925 Conn 26k Eb Sousaphone -- $675 SOLD
Price is $675
This sousaphone is an absolute blast to play, and it's really really nice shape overall. Two things really surprised me about it from my experience with it, and reading some old 1920s Conn catalog pages:
1) it's listed as being 6 lb lighter than the BBb version, which I also owned about 10 months ago, But I think it feels even better than that. Seems like standing and holding this for an extended period of time will be a whole lot more enjoyable.
2) The catalog pages mentioned something about the physical size of the Eb being only slightly smaller than BBb, in terms of overall height and bell diameter. Two reasons for that... First to maintain visual continuity between a section next between the two keys, and also for sound continuity between the two different keys. The results being a very full and rich sound coming from this Eb tuba through its 23-in bell. It sounds awesome.
The problem is, I have no use for a sousaphone, no matter how nice it is.
No trades
Thanks!

Re: WTT: 1925 Conn 26k Eb Sousaphone for 4/4 4-valve tuba
Probably no recording bells, but I'd consider it case by case... Let me know what you're thinking (or if you're just asking to ask)

Mostly playing devil's advocate, (and probably a little bit flat), but if challenged, i might be able to find something worth considering.

That looks like fun! I even have a nice full size rotary 4V C tuba to trade. Unfortunately, I also don't need a sousaphone, and I have a big Conn Bb anyway.
I'll give the listing a bump and tell all my friends about it.
Six pounds lighter, though.... Hmmmmm

Bump!
In case anybody is interested, this may be your chance. I'm having a garage sale next weekend, and I'm going to post this on craigslist before then as well. I'm hoping to sell it next weekend, but if anybody here is interested, please let me know prior to that so we can work something out.
Play it again last night, it's really really fun. I like it so much, it's just not something that I have any use for. Which is a total bummer, but I feel good knowing that somebody else does need this, and will use the heck out of it. And people will get to hear this fine instrument once more.
Really not sure what a reasonable sale price is, but I would probably list on craigslist at 1400, or here at 1200. If this prices are ludicrous in either direction, please let me know. I strive for fair pricing on quality instruments.

How's the after-ring? And did your other WTT post change the rules for an appropriate trade?

This is independent of the other post. I want to sell or trade this regardless of what else I buy or don't.

Re: FS: 1925 Conn 26k Eb Sousaphone -- $675
@humBell -- trade expectations have tripled. But actually, I'm probably more interested in $ than trades now. But I'll listen to anything!
