SOLD - Mirphone 282 for sale - $7000

Post by Jinitude »

have a like new Miraphone 282 with a brand new leather Cronkhite gig bag.

Will be in Baton Rouge this weekend -5/11

Will accept offers...

The 282 is a 3/4 size tuba. It's only left the house to go to Joe S. in TN to have the tuning slides worked on so they moved easier. Other than that, it hasn't left my house and has been rarely played.
There are a couple of factory finish flaws in the lacquer that were there when I bought the horn new in early 2023. I will grab some pictures and post more pictures later. Here's one next to my 186. :-).
These are $9500 new (plus tax), plus $1000 for the gig bag that took almost a year to get.
Will be asking $7000 for the whole deal. Or $8000 trade value.
Only trades are for a quality CC, no larger than a 4/4. I've been looking at Miraphone 184/186 CC as well as Yamahas. Would prefer rotary, but would consider a piston.
Could be convinced to take a 3/4 Yamaha Bb in trade. :-).
I'm in Starkville, Mississippi, but I travel to Baton Rouge quite often. I also occasionally head to Dallas. I am also planning a trip to Virginia Beach in April and could be convinced to drive for the right deal.
I do have the shipping box still and could ship, but that would need to be covered by the buyer. I'm going to guess $300-$500 to ship, fully insured. Buyer takes all risk do deal with insurance if there is an issue. It did make it safely to me in that huge box though. As always, would prefer to deal in person if possible. Willing to drive up to 5 hours from my location.
Finally, for payment. Paypal Friends and Family is preferred, but will take Goods and Services if you cover the 3% fee.
Will also do a "layaway" where you make payments and I will ship the tuba. :-).

It is like new, and the tuning characteristics are quite good. I think the bore size is like a 186 but it plays with a little bit more 3/4-ish sparkle.
' excellent tuba, was NOT asked to push this.

Hello, I was the buyer for this tuba. I just wanted to say that I highly recommend the seller for any future transactions. The tuba was in fantastic condition and the seller took great care to ship it to me safely. Thank you.
