Nice and relevant selection of testing literature.
In my opinion You demonstrated that these are definitely no cheap pieces of junk.
(And at over 8000 € they better not be, either)

To MY ear the larger horn worked better both on the Faust excerpt as well as the Bierzelt-Funk

So what´s YOUR take on these horns?
Who would you recommend them to?

Absolut no cheap stuff.
My opinion is that Lidl is growing to an absolute competent factory. The Instruments are so well made, that the Bohemian tradition is comming into an next level!

I would recommend to all. Amateur players, students and pros. It's worth a test!

Both sounded great, but I thought the Large model sounded more like an Eb tuba and the Medium sounded more like what I envision an F to be like...if that makes any sense...

Side by side, and in person, the differences are more noticeable.

If someone handed you one at random and said "play this tuba," there would be no complaints about either sound!

Thank-you for the A-B play-testing of the new Lidl F in M and L configurations. As I understand it, this is mainly a difference in
two different leadpipes? I liked the M (smaller leadpipe) version as my personal favorite. Each of the Lidl models, in each key,
have their own "flavor" or unique characteristics. The L (larger) version would be a great go-to for orchestral playing.

Lee, thank you for the last mail.
No, the difference M and L is only the 5th valve.
It is smaller if it is before the first valve and larger if it is a supplementary valve after the fourth valve.

Thank-you for the clarification! So, this would be two variations of the LFB 854?
