Wonder how fast i can get to Denver... pretty slowly, it turns out. And i have promises to keep... which will delay me somewhat. (though hopefully not so much as to be distracted by snow in the woods)

Was mildly wondering whether the adjective big applied to rotary or tuba... 16.75" bell and 37" tall aren't that large, but it sure does look huge, and given the bell taper, could well punch above its weight class. The fact it isn't huge leads me to the conclusion those rotors are small. So i'm back to square one of what is big, and like to think it is its fundamental tuba essence, whatever that is, 'cause it sure looks big.

I think the date is pretty accurate. My Alex has the same valve rack with tension adjusters on the clocksprings. :tuba:
