Almost pulled the trigger on this one, but I decided not to. Apparently this is one of (my teacher) Skip Gray's old tubas that the seller got via a trade with Norm Epley.

As a child I played one very similar if not identical to that and it did me proud. They were originally built in high pitched; the one for sale has had its main tuning slide extended but first and third will need pulling and the second (valve notes) will be slightly sharp. Looks in good condition, a tempting proposition for someone.

Unless converted it’ll need a small shank mouthpiece. I liked a smallish but deep cup.
