You were supposed to be a far better mathematician than I am. I understand how a bid such as the one that showed at the end could be possible, and I'm not going to explain it to you, because I think you can figure it out for yourself. Please understand that this is nothing more than a compliment. By the way, I hope you've picked up that thing that is waiting for you in upstate New York. I really hope you will like it, and suspect you will.

$25 was the MINIMUM bid increment...not the maximum...
...and the maximum bid does not necessarily show up on an item's page.
But if you bid 1550, the other autobid enters 1575. At that point you cannot bid less than 1600.
The answer is probably that minimum increment thresholds are different in euros than in dollars.
Yup. The increment between 1k-5k euros is 10 euros.
So i am just a US centered ebayer. Ebayist?
But yeah, retraction happening within a minute clearly informed the bid. One more thing to complain about, as if the world didn't already provide enough of that.
10 euros is for Germany, for Belgium and Holland it is 20 euros.
And it wouldn't surprise me that the bidder with the 1599 bid was the seller with trying to jack up the price. I have seen that before and that's why I hardly use ebay anymore.

Shills don't bother me.
Either I'm willing to pay $X(XXXX) for something, or I'm not.
Also, shills can possibly get stuck with no buyer, and having to pay the selling fees.
10% or more is a lot, and they have tons of "rules" 'n' stuff that (back in the 90's) didn't exist, but - well - a higher-and-higher percentage of everything (and not just online stuff) is scams.

Sadly last time i made it New York ways, i missed out on tomato pie because i was running too late. That pretty much sums up how disorganized i am. What do you have time for, if not tomato pie?

Thanks for being more thorough than me. I did in fact look up the Germany thresholds because i remembered .de first.
Oh well. Hope the buyer gets value out of it!

To bother or not, only two bidders left at 900 and still 8 days to go.
I'm guessing the winner was scammed and paid 500 too much.

How could someone get "scammed" if they ACTUALLY bid that much...unless what was being sold wasn't what was shown in the pictures?
