It wasn't all that clear that you were making a joke. I can't help but be reminded of the paranoid schizophrenic person who lives in our house (for whom we must care) who claims - after the fact - that some of the horrible things that they say to us are jokes, after we manage to point out to them how horrible the things that they said were.
I try to reread wisecracks a few times before hitting submit. Every once in awhile I screw up, admittedly.
