What I have noticed with a more shallow cup is that I don't have to anticipate nearly as much....I get behind the beat with a funnel. And I notice a difference in timbre but not intonation.

By the time you add a 3mm tall cylinder to the top of an Imperial cup (which does make a good mouthpiece by the way), there’s probably more volume in that cup than in a regular Sell’bgr Symphony cup...though the sonority is still going to be a bit more brilliant than with a Symphony cup.
