Okay I bit. I'm a huge York geek. I tried to get the perspective as best as possible 'til I decided that was good enough. Having so many York tubas, I've discovered there are always many different variable between horn models across the years. The above two York tubas are built far apart (like 18). In the 20's, the monster models got slightly smaller tapering, so that tells me the tooling/measurements did change somewhat. The company was innovative and experimented with different bracing spots, wraps, and so on. So comparing the two is probably apples to pears, but it's still fun!
