Yes. Raw brass cimbassi were the only ones which were considered viable, and none of the solar/wind/hybrid ones, either...

Once (and this is well-documented in someone's thesis) a leper walked up to him and suggested to him that hybrid cimbassi are viable.
His response was, "Show me," whereby he suddenly found himself entangled in a copyright suit.
