Since i have a plethora of your components, I'm interested in this info, too. The C4 really seems to work on my 186 - but I hate the brass!

The new thing that I'll be offering is silver plated brass and it's not modular, but it's even shallower than a C4 and the throat is even smaller. It's not going to be offered with a big wide rounded rim, but with a rim that I personally like.
So far, I've determined that it's really good on a cimbasso and on a really small tuba. If I find that it's useful for more things, I'll report that as well.

Maybe, this mouthpiece would work on your little Jinbao model 80 F tuba knockoff, but maybe that instrument's hopeless...??
I think I might be testing it on tubas like 5J, O-99, and similar and smaller instruments. It could prove to be something that trombone people who double on tuba would like.

Which set of Sellmansberger parts comes close to a TU-23? I have a Symphony, and that seems to not be it.

Probably a solo cup, a solo number zero standard shank, and a WM profile rim in one of the medium cup opening sizes.

William Morris played it and said that while not worthless, it's not very good. It sits in a corner in the case. Once in a while I take it out and cuss at it a while, then put it back.

I bought that one from Ivan when it was still a prototype. I had him narrow my rim slightly and bought one in titanium during my single years when I could afford $400 for a mouthpiece. I’ll never sell the giddings mp though. Still has some really great qualities. I also have the John Sass model and he matched the rim on that one to match my Baer model instead of the super flat rim it normally has.

I use a Sellmansberger solo, zero shank, and Joe offers a C4 style rim. He offers multiple sizes of that rim. I use a different style rim.
His zero shank size with a solo cup would be the closest. He offers two shank sizes larger if you want that, a #1, and #2.

OK, I get these two mixed up - I am not wanting the equivalent of a C4, but rather a C3 - the deeper and smaller rim of the two!

About the closest I could put together would be an Orchestra Grand Cup, an Orchestra Grand back bore, and a 32 mm W-M profile rim. I couldn't guarantee that it would be remarkably close to a TU-21.

From what I measured using my digits and a pencil as measuring tools,the solo with a profundo rim is real close, but it feels like I need a smaller bore (backbore??) shank. I think I have the solo #1 shank. I just know that Mirafone mouthpiece is VERY compatable to the 186 - go figure. I will try the OG setup though....hmmmm
