I have a Mack 410 and like it a lot. The Mack 410 has a slightly larger bell than the Mahler and I'm told it has a bit more mellow tone. Intonation is very good.
I played an Anton in the Chicago showroom last year. I really liked the tone (I'm guessing more American) but I couldn't get it to play in tune. It played flat. We realized my PT-36 stuck out a half inch further on that horn than the other horns in the showroom. Not sure why, but the other horns were fine. I think with the proper fitting mouthpiece, all would be fine.
The only other thing about the Anton I didn't particularly like was the weight. It seemed heavier than my Mack 410 (at 22lbs.). At my age (70) I'm after a lighter horn. I'm hoping they come out with a hand made version of the Anton which should be lighter.

Jonathan mentions there are some upgraded linkages on his version of the horn. I'm surprised the bells are a different size as they are using the same specs and machinery to build them? Odd, and certainly not worth the extra $1500 for a few minor upgrades IMHO.

The wessex has the Z valves and "double silver plating" I don't have enough experience with the Z valve to say if that makes it worth the extra cost or not. I know $1000 extra to go from Gold brass bell to Silver is a huge jump on a budget instrument
Too bad they are out of stock on the Gold brass bell

I think some of the older more-sought-after 186's had a slightly smaller bell than the present 186's. I think I read where Johnathan was trying to emulate that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Mack Brass Return Policy from their website:
Mack Brass instruments come with a 7-day trial period. If after the trial you feel the need to return the instrument, we will refund your money 100%. Unlike most of our competitors, we will not charge you any restocking fees, and we will even pay for the return shipping. We do this because we stand behind what we sell and our goal is to make you a satisfied customer. (Our return policy is not offered on international orders, bulk orders, custom orders, or ordering mistakes made by the customer. Refunds on shipping apply to US Continental sales only.)
I really like my MAck Brass 410. Mine plays in tune and has as good a tone as I'm able to produce.
