From what I've seen, and of course I can't find the source now, the 784 is one of the best selling BBb tubas in Europe right now. I don't think it's all students. For the size and weight it definitely punches above it's weight class. And that is VERY intriguing to an old man like me.
Also, does anybody here speak enough German to give a synopsis of the review in the 684 vs 784 video?

Czech horns have always been interesting (to me, whether or not I judged any of them to be useful to me) due to them being unique.
In the past, they were both unique and less-expensive.
Today, they are still unique.

The larger leadpipe seems to like the demo man, to my ears anyway, but I guess it must not work for everyone.
Also would be new to someone who's perused the Lídl site - I don't see a 5V version there, anyway.

The photo of the back reminds me a lot of a Miraphone 188, in terms of the more-noticeable taper of the top bow and bottom bow. The bell, however seems to expand more rapidly, or at least differently. Here's a rough side by side of the Lidl with a 188 photo from The Horn Guys:

I played the 784 and the 684 back to back today. I actually liked the 684 yellow brass horn with the smaller bell flare more. Both were very good, but the clearness and price of the 684 swings my bote that way
