The B&S 3103 (pt-1) is still in the B&S catalog. Although the gr51 is probably stealing some of its thunder, kinda like the Miraphone 496 Hagen (5/4) BBb would outclass the Miraphone 187 BBb to an extent. Hopefully in the future Buffet/B&S can have one in the at the shows and conferences. Makes a nice contrast with the GR BBb's.

Plus, all of BBb's can be ordered with a 5th valve too.

Only the 3103 and 3301 list different model numbers for the 5 valve versions.

4 valve
GR51
GR55
3103
3301

5 valve
GR51
GR55
3105
3302

The 3103 can be found on page 13.

I suspect that they would be glad to make most anything, if someone ordered it, particularly if a store ordered five of them.

People have seen me mention this before, but my opinion is that the worst damn shame - as far as things they no longer make, and I'm referring to post-reunification models - is the 2155, or - more specifically - the 2157 (which featured a smaller mouthpipe tube). The 2157 was just stupid good.

Stumbling across a stupid low priced 2157 might even encourage me to stick a C tuba back into my row of instruments here.

Everyone here knows my primary requirements: remarkably good intonation characteristics, easy to play and easy enough to play so as I'm not aware of the instrument and am only aware of the music I'm playing or striving to play.

I haven't played the MW 2155 let alone the 2157, BUT with our oom-pahs combined we can convince institutions to order those.

No idea what that gif is from^

But if those places insist on getting Yamaha BBb's then at least get the YBB-632 (Neo), and the new front action piston one. Haven't gotten chance to try either of them but I've heard they're a lot better than the other 4/4 BBb's that Yamaha adjust has.

Curious was the 795 is listing for these days... I saw one online that gave me pause because of the pricing.
