I missed (very likely) my last chance to have ever audited one of his master classes (Nashville area...perhaps a year ago).

Sadly, I had some (well, lets just say) "cooties" that I didn't think would be nice to expose to others.

A friend (trombonist - actually two or three years older than me) attended at my encouragement.

Reportedly, Mr. Bobo commented on all the predictable things, but also pointed out to a couple of students how gross it sounds to others to breath in with the mouth right next to the mouthpiece. (a damn good thing to point out)

I found this on FaceBook today. It's a report from Bodye Hood, former Los Angeles Philharmonic trumpet player.

to Edward Carroll: "Yes, Roger is back home and his housekeeper and student from Taiwan are with him.
The effects of the fall ( broken ribs, punctured lung and especially liver function problems continue. Oxygen levels in the blood are also ongoing.
He had dialysis on Monday and it was successful, and again yesterday but I haven’t heard yet how that went.
Overall he sleeps most of the time so far and his overall condition is still not good at all.
I’ll post things on my page as I get them."

Dialysis.
That’s sad to hear.
