Just wondering what finish options were offered on York tubas 1900-1930?
My York engraving does not show traces of satin within the engraving. The horn was silver at one time but is now bare brass. I don't see traces of satin.
So, was brite silver finish offered during that time frame?

I always thought the vast majority of them were offered in polished raw brass or satin silver with bright trim.

No idea where I heard that, but I just looked at a York catalog on the Loyalist website to confirm.

All silver options are frosted, no bright silver. At least in the one I looked at.

Is it possible the satin silver has desatinized over time? I've played many an old tuba where the frosted silver has gone smooth.
