Hi everyone,
Up for sale is my Besson 995 CC tuba.
Silver Plate
5v
20” Bell
0.748/0.787” bore
$5500
It will be chem-cleaned and polished in the coming weeks, and I’ll update these pictures when that is complete.
I received this instrument through the generosity of my Master’s Degree applied professor. I have been a euphonium player for my whole life, but decided to apply for DMA programs on tuba. I was playing a 3/4 CC at the time and knew I needed to upsize, and I received this tuba from her at a great price. I am unsure of who owned this prior to me and for how long, but I have had it for about a year and a half. It has traveled the country with me and got me into my current doctoral program, however I’ve realized .748 bore tubas and myself do not agree.
Because I received this at such a good price, I want to pass that on to someone who is in a similar situation to myself: up and coming tuba student who is in need of a high quality CC tuba. Of course I won’t decline to sell to someone who doesn’t fit that description, but I feel it’s only fair (especially to my master’s professor, who was so patient with me on getting this paid off).
I would also be interested in trades. Looking for any 5v 4/4 CC with a .689 bore. Top targets are the Eastman 832 or 632 (lacquer preferred), but willing to try anything.
I am very motivated to sell/trade, and will meet a potential buyer anywhere in Florida, Georgia, or Alabama. Tennessee and Mississippi are also possible, but it would have to be within certain areas (where I could crash with family or friends haha). Shipping is also possible at buyer’s expense. United States only please.
Please feel free to reach out with any further questions or just to talk shop. Happy to send more photos or videos. Thanks!
