Seeking 3/4, or Eflat, or midget tuba in Southern California

We’re in LA suburbs but for the right smaller, lighter tuba, we’d venture a bit.

My wife is finding it a challenge handling her bb flat at this point.

Please contact me here, or at artie412 at yahoo dot com.

Thank you!

Artie

What type of Eb tuba is of interest? 3 valve, 4 valved/compensator, 5 valved? Piston or rotors? Would a Chinese made tuba, Wessex as an example, be acceptable?

Hmm, my smaller York (15” bell) Eb that is flipped to be 4 valve front action with a rotor 5th valve might be a good match. As my slightly larger Martin Medium Eb project gets closer to completion, I suppose selling the York is an idea (that I hadn’t thought of until now). I’ll send an email.

I have a Wessex bubbie 5 available which is either a four valve Eb or 5 valve F tuba. They weight about 8.5 pounds and I have a neck strap so it is like playing a saxophone. Size is smaller than a euphonium. Lacquer finish with a gold brass bell. It comes with a case, mouthpiece and practice mute.

If you're also considering f tubas - I have a nice compact Lidl f tuba, gold brass with 6 valves. I'm located in the Bay area.
It's the compact model, it's pretty light and got decent low range.

I have a Wessex Bombino Eb (3+1 compensating piston valves) in the Seattle area which might get your wife something that's easier to handle. It's in great shape but is just sitting since I moved the other direction to a larger horn. DM me for more info if you're interested, thanks.

I have a Yamaha YBB-103, 3/4 sized BBb tuba that is pretty light and easy to play. Located in Ventura.

I have a very nice B&S made in Germany 3/4 BBb tuba listed in this forum. It weighs about 13.5 pounds. I’m in Texas, and shipping it safely to you is no problem. Here’s the link:
