Soundcheck Wessex Eb- Tuba "Gnagey"

Post by Kontrabasstuba »

Hello from Germany,
many manufacturers ask me for a Soundcheck of there instruments. I do it with joy, because i like to try out different instruments.

Here is my test of the Wessex Gnagey Eb Tuba.
Hope you like it.
I'm a loyal Eastman artist, but I'm always up for a try and a sound check. Respect to all instrument makers!

I've played one. I thought it was good, but that hand angle... hoo boy

Have you played their new Eb? That is the first wessex tuba that I can say I love with no reservations at all.
Yep, I'm Mark

Great sound, Daniel! Thanks for the vídeo!

The valve block is very similar on the angle to the Yamaha 621... It must be very unconfortable

I have not noticed such a bad hand angle. Was ok for me. Yes, i played the Eb York style. I didn't like it. Strange paying feeling. This one is much better.

FWIW, I find the valve block angle on the Yamaha 621 and the Gnagey to be fine. When the tuba is in playing position they are both very comfortable (to me). I am on the shorter side, so maybe this is something that taller-torso people experience.
