Finger buttons on Eastman EBB 226

I recently purchased an Eastman 226 BBb because I wanted a lighter weight horn to take to rehearsals. I really like the way it plays, but the finger buttons have very smooth plastic inserts that are slightly convex, so I find my fingers are slipping off a little, especially the 4th valve. Does anyone know where replacements might be available that would be less slippery, or where I might find replacement inlays for them?

That was one of my first thoughts, but I'm not sure I'll like the result. I will probably give it a try anyway.

If you don't like it, smooth them back out with 800 or 1000 grit.

I suspect it will address your dissatisfaction, though.

Sand them ON the instrument and 90 degrees from your fingers' angles.

plastic...probably won't take much...
