Sorry to hear that. I met Luke via his computer BBS that he ran back in the 80's and 90's, while I was in middle school, very early in my musical journey. He lived in the same town as I did, which meant it was a local call :) First time I met him in person, probably the main thing I remembered was the old horn he had hanging by the front door holding flowers (I had no concept at this point that brass instruments could conceivably age, and perhaps even wear out).

When I was entering high school, I reached out to him about buying a mouthpiece which he arranged via Tom Lyckberg (a Conn 2, which I still have, but is very beaten up after 4 years of high school parking lot practices combined with me not knowing any better). Honestly, at that age I had no real good concept of his musical accomplishments and ability. I remember him telling me about playing a solo for The Godfather II movie.
