For sale is a three-valve compensating Besson euphonium dating to approx. 1974. Mostly raw brass with some lacquer remaining. Mechanically and dent-wise, it's in great shape with just a few dings here and there, and it is missing part of the bottom bow guard wire. It has a medium shank receiver. Piston plating is great on pistons 2-3 and a bit worn on piston #1 as shown. Valves and slides all move well. Bell has never been rolled out and it is in surprisingly good shape for a former institutional instrument. Comes with an aftermarket hard case in poor to fair condition.

This would be a great backup euph, practice horn, doubler euph, or something lightweight for outdoor concerts or whenever a fourth valve isn't needed. The three-valve compensating system does a good job of steering pretty much everything in tune down to E below the staff.

I am asking $400, but if someone were interested, for $500 I could remove the rest of the lacquer, polish the brass or give it a satin-brass/scotchbrite finish, do the dent work/clean up work, and replace the receiver with either a more common large or small shank receiver.
