Looking for a harness for my 981.......

In a few weeks, I'll be performing a solo with my band....the bandmaster asked if I could play it standing up. I do have my CalderPips Grip..I can stand for a little but worried it might be too much for me.
My horn doesn't have carriage rings for a harness..but I see there are harness solutions for non-carriage ring horns.
I have a TA horn and it faces the right way. Most harnesses I am seeing are for FA facing the wrong way. Are they interchangeable?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Walking up to the front of the band during the performance and bringing my stand with me is too much.
Thoughts?

With two different tubas I've owned, I looked through my junk/stuff (though you likely don't have a junk/stuff parts box), found two VERY heavy-duty strap rings in good condition, spent some time figuring out precisely where they would need to be soldered to the instrument (for a simple straight leather strap to put the mouthpiece right on my mouth - I ran a rope around as a strap substitute and had a helper-friend position the ends of the rope), and soldered the two strap rings in place.
On one of those two instruments mentioned above, one of the strap rings ended up being in a sort-of bizarre spot, but - nevertheless - it was the correct spot for such a strap.

I have used that with my front action Gnagey/Martin Mammoth. Even for a large horn, it was comfortable. There is a top strap that wraps around any tube near your shoulder and it can be attached to the left or right shoulder.
Yes, I would recommend this harness.

I ordered one. We'll see how it goes. It says it'll work with my horn....

I thought about this with the PT-15, I'd just hold it, it isn't heavy. The 186, no frickin way.

Yeah, I have a strap on harness to fit that.
I switched out a Yamaha 641, to a Cerveny BBb.
I now use a stand. So let me dig it out, and I’ll send you some pics. Totally get where you’re coming from.

Just checked, same as mine. It worked fine for me. But I have a different one now.

i have found a piece of rope through a sov's marching loop can work really well if you don't find a better option... good luck!
and if no rings, also works with looping around the bottom and top bow to take the weight.
extremely agrictural - but whatever works!

I have the neotech harness and it works very well. However, I use a separate strap wrapped around the harness and bottom bow because I found it would slide around a little bit. Also I dont use the clip/strap on the upper bow because it was too restrictive. I move a lot when I play. It is very comfortable and works well playing seated also. You have more confidence in holding/ supporting the tuba and can manipulate music on your stand more easily, especially if its windy.
Good luck.

I picked up the Neotech Harness last night and took it to rehearsal.
The thing is not made for a Bass player who holds their bass like a Euphonium. Very awkward. If the lead pipe was more straight like a fletcher lead pipe, things might work differently.

I'm sorry to hear the harness didnt work for you. Especially after I talked it up. It works really well for me, but I dont position like a euph. I hope you find something that does work.
