Hi, Oleh! Do you run the shop that frequently posts the Soviet tubas and other instruments on Reverb?

I've been following you for a while, some cool stuff seems to show up occasionally.

Hi Top!

Yes, that’s me. Glad to hear you’ve been following the shop! I really enjoy finding and bringing these Soviet-era tubas and rare brass instruments back to life. There is some truly unique engineering in those old instruments that you don't often see elsewhere.

If you are looking for something specific or have a particular model in mind, please feel free to reach out. I would be happy to take on a custom order and work as effectively as possible to find exactly what you need.

I’m always working on finding more interesting pieces, so stay tuned—there’s definitely more cool stuff on the way.

Thanks for reaching out!

Best regards,
Oleh

Thanks for the warm welcome! Since I just registered yesterday, I’m still a bit restricted in posting full classified ads. However, I’m very excited to share a couple of special pieces from my collection with the community.

I know this forum is where the world’s top tuba experts and enthusiasts gather, so your feedback and expertise would be invaluable to me. I’d love to get your thoughts and an evaluation on these two instruments:

Orpheus Tenor Horn (1984) – New Old Stock (NOS). It’s in absolutely pristine, mint condition. A very interesting example of their engineering and sound, basically frozen in time.

J. Altrichter (Alt-Ruppin) Tuba (1910). A rare find in great historical shape. It features the classic rotary valves, and I’m quite impressed by its preservation given its age.

I’d be honored if the 'cream of the crop' here could take a look, share any observations on their condition, and perhaps help with a fair valuation. As soon as my forum restrictions are lifted, I’ll post them officially.

Looking forward to hearing from the pros!

hanks for the warm welcome! I’m really glad to be here.

I’ve been working on documenting this vintage Orpheus C Tuba, and honestly, it’s a bit of a puzzle. I’m trying to determine its true historical value and technical standing. Is it undervalued, or am I overestimating its rarity?

I’ve put together a detailed gallery with technical specs on Etsy just to keep everything organized, and I’d really appreciate it if the experts here could take a look:

I’m not just looking for a "price tag" — I want to understand if this model holds a significant place in the history of Eastern European brass. Any insights on the leadpipe design or the valve system would be invaluable. What do you think?
