Thanks, Joe. That's from my era! (23 years old, I was off to Fort Ord for Basic Combat Training.) Claude Gordon was becoming a big name in the brass crowd at that time. He wrote some good, solid training material for trumpet players which could be adopted quickly by players of all brass instruments.

The first big trumpet lick - in introduction to the "Fantasia" tune sounds a whole bunch like the opening lick to "The Flintstones" theme, does it not?

Billy May arranged/orchestrated the Fantasia tune, and Hoyt Curtin wrote the "Meet the Flintstones" theme...but I do not know if Curtin arranged/orchestrated it himself. Typically, that was left up to someone else.
