A few questions regarding this tuba. How much would a repair cost? How well does this type of tuba play?
Thanks!

Just me, or does each additional photo just add a whole new level of horror?
Those aren't bad tubas. But this one is in shiiiit condition, and too expensive for shiiiit condition, too.

To make it play maybe $500.
To Make it pretty might add another $2,500 or more. Much of the silver could be compromised. That's IF the existing parts can be straightened. Bow guards can be a royal pain.
This one is a Cerveny-made stencil. They play OK but I MUCH prefer the B & S-made stencils.
One might stand a better chance of putting the valve section on another horn.

I would want to have the dents removed and a good cleaning to get the gunk out. If I were to have anything done with the finish, I'd have the silver removed and a nice lacquer coat instead.

Should I shoot a lower offer? What would this be valued around?

If it were me, I'd move on.
I don't think it's dead, yet... But is it's not worth MY money to save it.

I honestly would not pay anything for this horn. Not one dollar. It is old Cerveny beat to $hit. It would just waste my time and my money.

Keep looking. This horn is a money pit with no bottom to it.

One of the 186s
Dan is selling or the B&S 2300 in the
For Sale section would be a better option.

I had one of these. Almost from the get-go I could not wait to sell it and get a better horn.

I have one of these in raw brass and I like it, but I am a newbie, so what do I know. Dan Schultz worked on it, putting on new bumpers and taking out the obvious dents. He wasn't in awe of it, but thought it played OK. I think the intonation is pretty good on this one.
I do agree that I wouldn't buy the one on ebay. If you want one of these, about $2000 or less should get you a good looking one that plays...
