While I've tried to only keep around items that I regularly use... it seems that I have aquired a number of mouthpieces that I don't play/use. I tried to price these to move but please feel free to make a (respectful) offer on anything. If it is here, I want to sell it. Buy to pay shipping on anything I send you. I have a number of boxes and cases for these and they will be mailed in a bubble wrapped envelope.
_____
Alexander Mouthpiece #1 - This looks to me like a nickel or German-silver mouthpiece. It has the typical large Alexander shank and I think it was included with an Alex BBb that I have long since sold. It is incredibly shallow and makes the Alexander's sound and respond kind of like an F tuba... Very interesting if you have an Alex. It does not fit the oversized receiver of my current Alexander CC very well. $100

Alexander Mouthpiece #2 - This one is a little shallower, and has a slightly smaller shank size than #1. It fits my Alex CC better, but I believe it is also from a BBb tuba. The condition of this one is slightly better. $125

King 18 - Came with a Sousaphone that I know longer have. I don't think I every used it. It has some very minor wear from sitting on a shelf and bouncing around in a box. I have a blue rubber UMI branded case for it. $50

Sold Unmarked Gold PT copy - I am guessing this is a PT-50 clone. I've never played it on anything and don't remember buying it. $40 Sold

Unmarked Bach copy - Looks like a 24-AW to me. I've never played it on anything and don't remember buying it. $40

_____

Yamaha Roger Bobo Symphonic - Standard silverplate, no gold plating on this one. I think that Yamaha calls this the "replica" version. Minor wear, slight scratching on the shank from inserting a few times. $50

Schilke Helleberg II #1- Like new, with box. I know that I used this one about a dozen times. $125

Sold Schilke Helleberg II #2- Very worn. I didn't try and polish it up to hide that. This was a backup mouthpiece that has spent most the last 15 years riding around in my car. You want this if your interested in trying the mouthpiece (or as a backup, like me) and don't want to pony up the $$ for a new one. $40 Sold

Sold Kellyberg - I think this is a small shank (british?) version of the Kellyberg. I don't remember getting it, its like new. They are made of Lexan so I don't think it would show any wear and tear if it wasn't. $20 Sold

So #1 is incredibly shallow, and #2 is a a little shallower than that?

Actually, YES I think so. Incredibly shallow was probably not the best choice of words here. I've had multiple people give me advice about the Helleberg II being a good fit on these Alexander 163's over the years. And compared to that, they are that shallow. but that's a pretty deep mouthpiece to be comparing it to.

I do believe they were hand turned on a lathe (one came with a Tuba that was pre-WW2, the other was early 1950's at the latest). They are just slightly different from one another and that's all I was trying to illustrate. Even more so than what I've seen comparing 15 or 20 more modern mouthpieces of the same make/model. But not so different that I think they are different sizes.

At one time I had four of them kicking around here, but one went with each of the tubas I previously mentioned when I sold them. Hence the two left not being used for anything. Neither one fits my current Alexander CC very well. Your mileage may very...

I can't see the photos in your post... Can you check that out?

What are the rim diameters and widths on these? And would they just be way too big to fit in a regular Euro receiver?

Thanks!

Sorry, they showed ok for me. Try this; https://photos.app.goo.gl/qGfeNtTNv7T6iid27

I just tried them in the Euro sized receiver on my 5/4 Rudy BBb. They only went in about 40-45% of the way though, so they are larger.

I have an Alex tuba mouthpiece, too. Curious which of yours it most closely resembles? Do you know the width of the rim?

My cheap calipers put the cup diameter at 1.320".
