How long is the median trial period?

yeah...
‘ was referring to tooting on my personal instruments - to pass the time, while repairing theirs...

...you probably remember:
There was a poll, and everyone said that they would never allow others to play on their personal instruments...

... The only one that I’m really protective of is my circa y2k Jinbao “Cb” tuba. 😶

Did she say if you will befall tragedy, happiness or a windfall of some kind??

I prefer tarot cards. Crystal medians are hacks!!

Well (statistically speaking), those to whom I referred fall into the median, and not the mean/average.

OK...more wisenheimer fodder just offered, as there’s now an opportunity to misinterpret the definition of “mean“. 😎🤠👨🏻‍🎓

Surely nobody would call you mean.

Quite frankly, I'm not sure what I said about any of them besides "they play great" or something to that effect. There was no need for additional comment about intonation, as that was implied, plus I know (and subscribe to) Joe's standard for acceptable intonation.

There WAS some commentary on why I concur that the Symphonie is a fantastic (and completely underrated) F tuba, and how I want Joe to will me his. But it wasn't long after that, I got to buy my own. Then Joe wanted to check mine out on my next trip.

And I can confirm his bellfront Eb most certainly is THE choice for Dixieland/hot jazz stuff and easy to play well. And in tune.

I think the only instrument I didn't play was the Thor. Had to save something for the next trip.

I'm sure you were just trying not to be mean by actually saying anything. :red:

Bill is neither the mean nor the median, but dwells within the anti-mode.

Not to be confused with "anti-node." Although that also might be true at times.

Joe...if I ever have the pleasure of visiting Blokeplace, it will be to have horns repaired, meet Mrs. Bloke, take a tour, have a sammich, and get some local BBQ. I probably would not touch your horns. I bet they play incredibly in tune though.

"This" tuba's mouthpipe might be too low, and
"That" tuba might (eek !!! ) weigh over 25 lbs., and
"That other" tuba might be (the dreaded/shunned) top-action :wall: , and
"ALL of they may have way-too-many water keys (which "affect the 'nodes' " :eyes: ), but...

...(being REALLY lazy, and REALLY tin-earred), I really NEED tubas that - innately - go straight down the intonation highway, and - mostly - stay out of the intonation ditches (statistically speaking...) :tuba:

Played poker once.
All we had was a deck of Tarot cards.
I got a full house, and four people died.

truth:
Over forty years ago, three good friends (all still good friends to this day) played the simple poker game of "chicken" (until LATE at night) using ONLY "Risk" (board game) cards.
"Mongolia" was - sort-of - the equivalent of the "Old Maid".

("Chicken" is where you are dealt only ONE card, you do NOT look at it, you place it on your forehead - face out, and bet that your card is more valuable than others'.)

yeah...fulla hate, 'n' stuff...
(but - as society has become so kook-dominated, that's probably no longer funny...as so many kooks take so many things so very seriously... :eyes: )

Joe, if I ever get to play your tubas, I will ONLY remark about the intonation. :teeth:

Up here in Wobegon, all of our tubas are above average. :teeth:
