This Tuba Tuesday the Museum features what might be its earliest CC tuba ....a Gotthard Bittner 4 rotor tuba, c. 1880-1900.
Comments: “BITTNER IN NÜRNBERG” on bell. Might be earliest CC tuba in the collection.

Gotthart Bittner (also written Büttner) was active in Nürnberg from between 1867 (founding date) until sometime around/after 1912. He was know to have participated in the Bayer. Landes-Industrie-Gewerbe und Kunst Ausstellung in Nürmberg in 1896 displaying a number of brass instruments. His workshop was located at Jacobsplatz 6 until 1912 when it moved to Schlotfegergasse 38. After this date, there is no further mention of him or the workshop.

I like the minimum of flare it has.
I would be a little less likely to wack it on things as i turn around...
