' anyone have one of these rattling around in a draw collecting dust, before I make one out of stuff that I have sitting around here?
(Alternately, a full-extension #1 slide trigger would just about accomplish all of the same goals, but...)

@joshealejo was just looking for one and was successful. Perhaps he found two...?

If one were to go through the trouble of making one of these, wouldn't it be 'better' to make a replacement main tuning slide with a valve in it (assuming clearance, enough dollars, and desire) ?

I made a king 2280 into a independent 5 valve euphonium. No regrets, and I love the instrument. If it had the tone of my Packer, I'd play it every day

@cjk
The bore of the main slide is very large and tapered, as well as the location being awkward.

The spare rotor that I have is more of the bore size of the fourth circuit. If I bother to install it - dependent or independent, I probably won’t sell the instrument.

Three euphonium-type instruments seems quite extravagant for a doubler, but I am a doubler who is paid to double, and – not being a euphonium superstar – their diverse strengths assist me in sounding competent to those who hire me.

I've often wondered about a 1st valve slide trigger. There is quite a bit of slide length in that circuit.

I'm kind of hoping that nobody has one for you so that I can see what you come up with, bloke. Sorry. :smilie6:

A #1 slide trigger would be pretty easy, and would offer:
E-flat
D
D-flat
a sucky/sharp C (unless #3 were also pulled)

I believe E-flat and D are enough, though a C would be sorta nice.

Though this instrument is (now that I've hastily gone over it) "dent-free enough", it's not perfectly dent-free.
There's a small chance that I might "jack up" the (currently: perfect/floating) alignment of the #1 slide when removing some minor #1 casing slide crook dents, so I would probably (at least) remove those minor dents prior to installing such a trigger.

There is also a very easy way to install a PERMANENT dependent 5th valve in the #4 circuit.
