Why is there no spooky Hallowe'en music for tuba solo?

Tuba players need all the recognition they can get...Tuba Christmas is great and Tubby the Tuba and the Grouchy Bear thing, but is seems to me that Hallowe'en would be a great time for bands and orchestras to break out a piece with a spooky solo for tuba...are there any such pieces? Do any orchestras/bands play them?

Another possibility if the Halloween theme is a bit more whimsical is the banquet scene music from Peter Pan. It’s short but pretty fun.

The Clocktower by Roy Magnuson (originally for euphonium and electronics) works well on tuba 8vb (also works well at octave). The composer has permitted it to be performed 8vb.

I think there should be a consortium for a new work for tuba (tuba and electronics, tuba and piano, tuba and ensemble) by Danny Elfman. Film music composers such as Bruce Broughton, Rolf Wilhelm, and John Williams have wrote great works for the solo tuba, and those are also among the most performed. In addition, they tend to do a fantastic job of scoring the tuba in their film scores (and those are not easy). Danny Elfman's "musical voice" tends to favor that of the tuba, and I am sure the work, assuming it is playable, would put it among the standard literature in no time at all.

When my son was a boy trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, I would don my souzy and walk with him playing Gounod''s Funeral March of a Marionette (Hitchcock theme). The sad part is that the neighborhood where I lived had too many young sprout homeowners who didn't recognize it!

Necroterror by Ian Lester is another good one... Originally written for euphonium but works well 8vb on bass tuba. Give it a look, it's very fun to play.
