This Tuba Tuesday the Museum presents a 3 piston upright EE flat tuba marked Haynes, Boston.
From Horn-U-Copia: “John C. was one of three brothers. William S., and George W. were the other two brothers who specialized in making flutes. 1845 Started working for Oliver Ditson
1857 Became partner with Ditson
1861 Established John C Haynes & Co as a branch
1888 With death of Ditson, he became president
1894 Established the Bay State tradename
1904 merged the company back into Ditson “
