A buddy of mine in Vegas would like to get in touch with Cameron Gates for the possibility of taking some private lessons with him. Does anyone have his contact info?
Thanx...
...Dave

Hey Dave, I just sent you a PM with the email address that I have. It's from a few years ago, so no promises

Cam is a pretty private dude these days so don’t be surprised if you can’t reach him. He DOES pop up from time though, so who knows. I don’t recall him ever having private students, so yeah.
He’s easily one of the most unheralded and underrated players of his generation. Listening to him in the USMB was liking having a reference recording of everything live. He’s a grinder who will tell you he only got by because he worked his tail off, but the truth is he was also extremely gifted as a player.

Roger that. My buddy plays tuba/trombone at the Hofbrau Haus. Cameron came up to him on stage a few nights ago in between one of the sets and introduced himself. They chatted for a bit, but my buddy didn't realize exactly who he was until after the fact when he looked him up online. My buddy's a trombone player who picked up tuba a few years ago as a double. He's been doing pretty well for himself, but was thinking it might be nice to get some lessons from a legit tuba player. If he'd known the extent of Cameron's background when they met, he would've prolly asked him for his info. He just knew that Cameron had mentioned he played in the USMB, and had retired for health reasons.
