And there is no one within driving distance of here who can fix such a thing in any competent way, anyway.

I think Joe is correct and that the seller has it listed wrong. It looks like a very small Eb tuba to me. Or it is a baritone with a bore about the size of a trumpet, which I doubt.

I agree it does look like a small tuba. But what I said about there being no one nearby to fix it up is correct. And it's in MI with the assumption that it will be a local pickup. So -- my tuba will show up when it is supposed to, if it is supposed to.

That looks very much like a Lyon and Healy Eb I bought to learn some repair skills (and Eb fingerings). It ended up being a decent horn.
