Happy Tuesday Tuesday. Today, the Museum features a Slater, B flat tenor helicon, 3 rotary, ca.1880.
Bell Diameter 8 1/2″ & bore is .550.”
Seal on side of bell. “M. Slater, / Maker / * / N.Y.” on seal.

I don't know if i'd approve of that.
I imagine it is prudent keep both hands on the handlebars, so it sounds like it might be distracted driving... (and i couldn't say whether i'd be more worried about the horn, the bike, the person, or whatever other confounding factor was involved)
I was also wondering if those were still considered top action rotary valves considering they face forward?
In any case, wicked cool!
